My Hero

P.O. Howard died doing what he lived for, and that was to help others. He was not scheduled to work on September 11th, it was his day off. But upon learning of the attacks, he rushed to the site. Upon arrival, the second tower collapsed and he was killed.

Letters

A Quiet Hero...

Some men die a glorious death, full of fanfare and of fame,
Others die so quietly, we hardly know their name.
It doesn't matter how they die, the void they leave is great,
George died a quiet hero, and to that there's no debate.

He lived his daily life in a simple way,
Helping those around him every day.
In his untimely passing he achieved a noble feat,
He saved the lives of others...
Snatching victory from defeat.

All will mourn his passing,
And even question if it's just.
But like the hero he truly is,
He'd simply say...
"Please, In God We Should Trust"...
